Kayla Brown is a social worker, disability activist, and researcher with a focus on equity and inclusion for people with disabilities in higher education. She earned a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Washington, specializing in Community-centered Integrated Practice. Prior to that, she studied Psychology at Bellevue College and Community Psychology and Social Sciences at the University of Washington. She further advanced her education by obtaining a Doctorate in Educational and Organizational Learning and Leadership from Seattle University.

Kayla has worked as a Counselor/Coordinator at DO-IT, a program that provides support and resources for students with disabilities at the University of Washington. She has also worked as a Program Assistant and Student Assistant at DO-IT. Additionally, she was formerly a New Staff Manager at The HP Alliance, a Corps Member at City Year, and an Intern at Kindering.

Kayla's research and advocacy work emphasizes community collaboration and listening to the voices of those impacted by disability activism. Using her background and knowledge, she believes in implementing structural change and promoting healthy practices on a community level while advocating for individuals needing one-on-one mentorship.
