Jim Trent is an experienced Assistant Dean and proven industry leader with deep roots in higher education and the high tech industry. With a BS in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, Jim has honed his skills in operations management, medical devices, market research, and management.

Jim has held various leadership roles throughout his career, including External Relations Manager and Vice President/General Manager at Brigham Young University, President of Wolf Electronix, and Manufacturing Engineer at Compaq Computer Corporation. His experience in business planning and development spans across many industries, including medical devices, electronics manufacturing, and software development.

Currently serving as Assistant Dean of the BYU Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering, Jim continues to inspire students and impact the academic community by sharing his extensive knowledge and expertise with the next generation of industry leaders.
