The Big Draw is a charity with an international footprint which promotes arts education, visual literacy and the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention. In a world increasingly dominated by visual imagery and digital media we aim to widen perceptions of what 'drawing' means in our contemporary culture.
We see, 'drawing' as being not just a tool for illustrators, cartoonists, painters etc but as also a vital skill for many careers in the Creative Industries, eg gaming, film, 3D modelling, animation, architecture, software design etc.  Equally, 'drawing' is an essential tool across other sectors and Industry, physicists, engineers, anatomists, surgeons etc.
The charity leads a diversified programme encompassing advocacy, empowerment and engagement, and is the founder and driving force behind The Big Draw Festival – the world’s biggest celebration of drawing. Last year 28 countries had a presence in the Festival.
The Big Draw manages collaborative projects, campaigns and educational conferences as well as taking an active role in advocating for the value of cultural learning. The charity supports professional and emerging artists through The John Ruskin Prize and exhibition, and through events, showcases, awards, and competitions, creates platforms for each and everyone who wants to draw.
Regular attendee/member for APPG - All Party Parliamentary Group on Art Craft and Design Education and numerous other national arts and arts-education groupings.

Promoting and supporting the work of creative thinkers, designers and makers who innovate through their exploration of materials and skills since 1887.
Formed as the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society in 1887 with Walter Crane as the society's first President and William Morris as its second, the purpose was to give a voice to, and to organise exhibitions for the growing body of designer-makers.
The Society is proud to have some of the most prominent names in design and craft as past members and presidents of the Society. These include some of the most influential members of the Arts and Crafts movement and important designer makers of the C20th.

The Guild of St George is an educational charity, founded in 1871 by the Victorian art and social critic, John Ruskin, devoted to the arts, crafts and the rural economy. The charity hosts and presents regular events, lectures, collaborations and projects in the UK and internationally.  The Guild is also land-holding with Ruskin Land, in the Wyre Forest and supports the Ruskin Collection in Sheffield. 2019 saw exhibitions and events in celebration of Ruskin's bicentenary #Ruskin200 across the UK and internationally.

The Big Draw ran its 5th Edition of The John Ruskin Prize & Exhibition in 2019 with ongoing lead collaborative partner The Guild of St George. 2019 saw The Prize partnering also with The Holden Gallery - Manchester School of Art /MMU.

I set up KJM in June 2008 as a limited company to give myself some flexibility to pursue a number of different interests: To enable  me to take on consultancy work in the Arts and Cultural and Creative Industries sectors. To also give the space to work on own CPD programmes eg. such as training as facilitator and trainer within action learning set model ('Action Learning Associates' and 'Cultural Leadership Programme' initiative), develop other interests eg. Law: I undertook three placements during summer’09  (family law /criminal /clinical negligence) and undertake any voluntary or pro-bono as see fit. Also importantly to have some flexibility to start a family.

S.T.E.P - Southwark Theatres Education Partnership

At SAF I undertook a major organisational review. This included re-visioning, curating the new programme, undertaking a staffing re-structure, assembling and developing a new Board, re-branding, re-launching and strategically repositioning the company to its stakeholders/partners/members/wider community and oversaw the implementation of the new Cultural Directory for the borough.
I Chaired the Elephant and Castle Cultural Quarter Group and helped set up both the Camberwell and Peckham Creative Industries Networks.

SAF is the networking organisation for the Arts and Creative Industries in Southwark with a membership of over 2000 made up of individuals artists/producers plus arts/cultural orgs and agencies, business, CCI’s, regeneration, VCS, education sector. I mentored and provided ‘one to ones’ to over 250 individuals and groups whilst at SAF on everything from business planning, fundraising, board development, budgets and finance, recruitment, project development and management, creative programming, crisis management etc
