Responsible and accountable for all functions and activities related to environmental and social activities at the resort through the management of four key areas: a) Holistic Environmental Management System (HEMP): Earth Check Benchmarking, Soneva Carbon Calculator, Clean Water Projects and the implementation of marine/terrestrial projectsand awareness campaigns b) Social & Environmental Responsibility Fund (SERF): Managing the resort SERF fund: Preparation of project proposals; establishment of a project monitoring and evaluation framework (resource mobilization, document flow, timely budgets, expenditure tracking). Consultancy project based in Syria; the consultant spent one month on the ground in Syria developing a strategy to increase cultural tourism in Masyaf and the region whilst ensuring the economic benefits remain local. Component elements of the project included market and product analysis, local economic, product and SME development strategies, preparation of strategic marketing plans and partnership synergies. Particular attention was paid to the unique cultural heritage of Masyaf and to matching it to potential niche overseas groups.
