Norman Ornstein is a highly regarded American political scientist and writer with a career spanning over four decades. He is a former Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), but continues to hold the position of resident scholar. He has been a prominent commentator and analyst on politics and government in America, both in print and on TV. Ornstein has authored/co-authored a number of books on politics, such as "The Permanent Campaign and Its Future" and "It's Even Worse Than It Looks," which was a New York Times bestseller. Ornstein has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and has also taught there, as well as at various other institutions including the Johns Hopkins University. He has also served as the President of the Public Choice Society. Ornstein's work and commentary have focused on topics such as American politics, elections, Congress, and lobbying.
