Desiree Bote is an accomplished development professional with an extensive background in social justice advocacy. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was highly involved in student organizations and cultural groups. Desiree has held various roles in different organizations, including Development and 20th Anniversary Consultant at Grassroots Collaborative, Development Associate at Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Chicago, and AmeriCorps VISTA Development Associate at Asian Americans Advancing Justice--Chicago. She has also worked as an intern for the US Forest Service and the Organization of Chinese Americans--Asian Pacific American Advocates (OCA--APAA).
In these different capacities, Desiree has honed her skills in research, communications, event planning, diversity and inclusion facilitation, and tutoring. She has worked on projects related to community organizing, fundraising, grant writing, and donor management. Desiree is passionate about social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and she is knowledgeable about issues affecting Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and other marginalized communities. She is dedicated to making a positive impact in her community and beyond.
