Cassie Young is a seasoned SaaS and growth marketing executive turned VC/operating partner. With nearly seven years of experience as a key business partner to the CEO and Board of Directors at Sailthru, a marketing tech company, Cassie was hired by Sailthru’s co-founders to launch a new function focused on customer strategy and analytics during a period of rapid growth. Her leadership resulted in a specialized global client services team and a $20MM Series C from Scale Venture Partners in December 2013. From 2015-2018, she worked closely with Sailthru's CEO and CFO to execute a turnaround strategy that increased ARR by 187%, reduced gross churn by 57%, and led the company to cash flow and EBITDA profitability in 2018. Sailthru was eventually acquired by CM Group, wholly owned by Insight Venture Partners, in December 2018 as part of a martech roll-up play. Following the Sailthru acquisition, Cassie joined the executive leadership team of CM Group to manage a $200MM+ P&L with a global CS and commercial team of 200+ people. Cassie has a High School degree from Mendham, an MBA in General Management from Dartmouth College - The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and a degree in Sociology and History from Duke University. She is currently a General Partner at Primary Venture Partners and has served on several advisory and executive boards across various organizations.
