Daniel Gallagher, a former SEC Commissioner and legal expert, has joined the fintech company Robinhood as its Chief Legal Officer. Gallagher has a wealth of experience in both public and private sectors including corporate legal affairs, financial markets, and regulatory matters. He is a strong advocate for reform in corporate governance and equity market structure issues, as well as building the SEC's fixed income market expertise. Gallagher has also served on the staff of the SEC in several capacities, working on matters with the Division of Enforcement and the Division of Trading and Markets among others.
Gallagher's private sector experience includes a partnership at the Washington, D.C. office of WilmerHale, and senior vice president and general counsel of Fiserv Securities, Inc. He also previously served as the Chief Legal Officer at Mylan.
Gallagher studied Juris Doctor (J.D.) at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and received his Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature, General from Georgetown University.
