Anthony Barrett is a visionary social entrepreneur and social justice advocate who seeks to elevate underrepresented communities. Raised in Hartford, CT, he witnessed first-hand the dearth of positive role models in these communities and decided to give back by becoming a social entrepreneur. Mr. Barrett co-founded Girls For Technology, Inc., a non-profit organization that equips historically disadvantaged populations with the skills necessary to succeed in the STEM arena. He also founded BoysCode, which aims to shift the narrative for black and brown boys in STEM. Additionally, he serves as the executive director of the Wilson-Gray YMCA, where he launched a game-changing corporate partnership with Best Buy to create the Teen Tech Center, providing adolescents with the resources they need to succeed in technology-focused industries.

Mr. Barrett's honors include being selected for the 2013 Hartford Business Journal 40 Under Forty class, which recognizes outstanding young professionals in the Greater Hartford area. His passion for social justice and his success as a social entrepreneur have allowed him to make a real difference in his community. He holds a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Connecticut, an MBA in Management from Springfield College, a BA in Psychology from the University of Hartford, and an AA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Mitchell College.
