Janet Brown

Janet Brown is a seasoned executive with over fifteen years of experience in the long-form video distribution and monetization industry. She is recognized for her innovation and entrepreneurship in founding FilmBuff, a pioneering company in global VOD distribution for acquired film and TV content. Her expertise in content licensing, distribution, and marketing has led her to hold several leadership positions in the film and media industry. Among her career highlights, she successfully led the sale of FilmBuff to Gunpowder & Sky, a digital studio backed by Chernin Group and AT&T, and currently serves as their EVP of Acquisitions and Global Distribution.

Janet holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Columbia University - Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree, Joint Honors Economics and Political Science, from McGill University. She started her career in media consulting at Accenture and Yahoo, followed by a position as Head of Research at Cinetic Media, a distribution and sales agency.
