Erik Hansen is a highly experienced Director of Economic Policy & Development at City of Minneapolis, committed to eliminating poverty and improving overall living conditions. With a degree in MPP, Community Development and a BA in Economics from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, as well as studies at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, The University of South Dakota, and the University of Saint Thomas, Hansen brings a diverse set of skills to his work. His expertise lies in stimulating the local economy, reducing barriers for more equitable outcomes, and working with public and private partners to make communities better. Before his current role, he served as Economic Development & Housing Director at City of Brooklyn Park, MN, as well as Principal Project Coordinator and a member of Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee. Hansen's background includes positions as NRP Coordinator at ECCO Neighborhood, Neighborhood Coordinator at Beltrami Neighborhood Council, and Research Assistant at Minnesota House of Representatives. Before these positions, he worked for John Ryan as Installer and Field Services Manager. Hansen's goal is to leave the world better off than he found it, and he is determined to achieve this through his work.
