Simon Crosby

Simon Crosby is a highly experienced entrepreneur, technologist, and academic. He currently serves as a faculty member at the Computer Laboratory of Cambridge University in the UK, where he teaches and conducts research on cutting-edge topics such as distributed systems, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. He is also the Founder, President & CTO of CPlane Inc, a company that develops software-defined networking solutions for data centers and service providers.

Simon has an impressive track record of founding successful startups and making significant contributions to some of the biggest names in the tech industry. He was the Founder & CTO of XenSource, a virtualization company that was acquired by Citrix Systems for $500 million. He then joined Citrix as the CTO of Data Center & Cloud, where he led the development of the company's cloud computing strategy and product portfolio. Simon also co-founded Bromium, a security company that uses hardware virtualization to protect endpoints from advanced malware attacks.

In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Simon is a Strategic Research PI at Intel Corporation, where he focuses on research projects related to future trends in computing and networking. He is also an advisor and investor in several early-stage startups, including Insight Engines, Netronome, BlueStacks, Nomad-go, Watchful.io, and Swim.ai, where he currently serves as CTO.

Simon holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from the University of Cape Town. He has also held academic positions at the University of Cambridge's Computer Laboratory and Fitzwilliam College.
