He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, and his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Engineering, and Communications from Doms, Iit Roorkee. Additionally, he obtained his Master of Engineering in Engineering, Electronics Engineering from Philips International Institute. Dr. Kumar currently holds the position of Regents Professor and William Norris Chair in Large Scale Computing at the University of Minnesota, where he has been a highly respected professor and researcher for many years.
