Content strategy for PAX, EGX, and the Reedpop gaming brands, implementing new event diversity initiatives and partnerships, managing communication and opportunities between global teams, and being forward facing and point for biz dev opportunities.

At a global level I worked with the teams to launch gaming events in China, Korea, Singapore, France, Germany, and the UK - working closely with our teams in each region, seeking out local partnerships, managing brand expectations, and assisting with contacts and community engagement.

In North America I was responsible for growth strategy of the PAX series of shows in Seattle, Boston, and San Antonio, and implementation of features such as PAX Together (under represented developers), the Latinx Lounge (theatre featuring latinx focused content and exhibitors), PAX Ambassadors (industry luminaries representing the show), as well as overseeing all PR, and managing the B2B event growth with our UK GamesIndustry.biz team (multiple Investment Summits in Boston and Seattle).

As one of the most forward facing people on the Reedpop team, I engaged with associations and groups to form new partnerships around the world, negotiated commercial sales and sponsorship packages, and connected folks within our organization to the right people externally.

Global Gaming Content Director

Specialising specifically in gaming, I oversaw all the content across PAX Australia (largest video game/tabletop game festival in Australia) and Oz Comic-Con (pop culture event across 5 cities a year).

This included curating and sourcing panel and theatre content, engaging communities for feature areas, facilitating sales and sponsorship opportunities, and managing local and international talent.

On PAX specifically, I worked closely with the Penny Arcade partners to the spirit and community of PAX to Australia, and had a very public and forward facing role. My experience in the games industry also means I was able to contribute to social media strategy (having originally founded and grown the PAX social accounts), marketing (knowing most of the specialist press), and sales (having worked with all the publishers in previous roles).

I made sure PAX Australia was the definitive experience for gaming culture.

At Gameplanet I work with the team in Australia and New Zealand by creating new and unique ways to engage with our community and expand the reach of the site.

I organise and promote small and large scale events, foster relationships within the gaming industry, and represent Gameplanet to the general public.

In this role I also contribute to the site as a features writer, focusing on Australian game culture, the local development scene, and previewing upcoming games.

Responsible for spearheading the new MCV Pacific gaming trade publication throughout the Australia/New Zealand region.

As the marketing manager, I'm responsible for negotiating of strategic partnerships and collaborations with local and international gaming companies and events.

The Mana Bar is the first of it's type anywhere in the world, a cocktail bar that features the latest in video game consoles. The Brisbane venue opened in March 2010, and the Melbourne venue opened in July 2011.

As well as coming up with the initial concept and founding the venture, I also handled all marketing, public relations, social media, graphic design and event management in both venues.

Utilising my experience working with flash and website interfaces, this position gave me the opportunity to help create the user interface and other various graphics on Sega's upcoming game 'Stormrise'.

This position required me to work in the eLearning Branch on numerous distance education website resources, ranging from teaching tools and curriculum transcribed to an online format, to multimedia flash animations designed to be used by students.

The requirements were strict and necessitated learning specific tools and content management software that I had not used previously, such as Blackboard and OnePortal.

The job is very similar to that of InsaneMEDIA, in the respect that the same web graphic design and development skills were required. However, at Zorgco there was also a heavy focus on print media, in particular Product Labels, Barcode Conformity and Full Colour Brochures.
