Greg Horn

Greg Horn is a highly skilled engineer with extensive experience in software, control systems, dynamical modeling, aerodynamics, and optimization. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering at KU Leuven while serving as the Director of Software and Controls for Project Heaviside at Kitty Hawk. Horn is a software, control systems, and optimization generalist, as well as a learning engineering management and leadership expert.

Horn has previously held several engineering positions, including Systems Engineer at Makani and Controls Engineer at Joby Energy. In addition, he has served as a Consulting Engineer at Makani Power and a Research Assistant at the Autonomous Systems Lab and the Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics (SCIPP).

Horn has personally written and flight tested many flight controllers for human-scale aircraft, including eVTOL, fixed wing, multicopter, and rotorcraft. He has extensive experience in control law, embedded systems, GCS, and simulation stack.

With a BS degree in Physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MS in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford University, Horn is a well-educated and highly qualified engineer. He brings a wealth of technical knowledge to any project, in addition to his leadership and management expertise.
