Omar Martino is a seasoned expert in interconnection, transmission, market operations, and FERC energy affairs. His career spans across various commercial roles, from supporting complex financial structures and power transactions to contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, and project valuations. Martino's expertise includes policy and regulatory affairs affecting the renewable energy industry, transmission planning processes, and market infrastructure development. His knowledge and experience in risk management, investment strategy, and compliance have been essential in the commercialization of renewable energy projects and evaluation of transmission assets. Martino holds a J.S.D. (Ph.D. in Law) in Risk Management and Compliance from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, a J.S.M. in Risk Management & Compliance/Financial Services from the same institution, dual M.S. in Finance/Management from the University of Colorado at Denver, an M.E. in Electrical Engineering, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Notably, Omar is the Vice President of Interconnection at Lightsource BP and former Sr. Director of Transmission Strategy at EDF Renewable Energy.
