David Blank-Edelman is a Senior Cloud Advocate at Microsoft, with extensive experience in computer science, system administration, and infrastructure management. He studied at Brandeis University, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. David has served as the Curator and Editor of Seeking SRE: Conversations on Running Production Systems at Scale at O'Reilly Media, and co-founded SREcon, serving on the steering committee and as a USENIX Liaison at USENIX Association. Additionally, he has held positions such as Technical Infrastructure Organizer at HONK!, Columnist at USENIX Association's ;login magazine, Technical Evangelist at Apcera, Director at USENIX Association, Program Chair of the LISA Conference at USENIX Association, and Author at O'Reilly Media. David's expertise lies in automating system administration with Perl for System Administration, managing technical infrastructure, and directing technology. Before joining Microsoft, he served as the Director of Technology at Northeastern University College of Computer and Information Science, was a Network Administrator at the same university, and worked as a Systems Administrator at the MIT Media Lab and at Cambridge Technology Group.
