John Wood is an accomplished social entrepreneur, investor, and education advocate with a long list of achievements and accolades. He is widely recognized as the founder of Room to Read, a global non-profit that has helped over 20 million children in low-income countries. John started Room to Read after a successful career with Microsoft, where he led the fundraising team and raised over $650 million in capital. In addition to his work with Room to Read, John is a partner at Concentric Equity Partners, an investor in several sustainable start-ups, a board member at Asia Partners, and a senior advisor to XA Network. He has also authored three books, including Leaving Microsoft to Change the World and Purpose, Incorporated: Turning Cause into Your Competitive Advantage. John holds honorary Ph.D.s in education, social enterprise, and humane letters from McGill University, the University of San Francisco, and Wofford College, respectively. He also has an MBA in finance and international business from Northwestern University and a BS in finance and economics from the University of Colorado Boulder.
