Researched alpha-synuclein and its role in Parkinson's Disease.
Genotyped mice to differentiate between transgenic and wild type mice - this included dissection and using advanced laboratory equipment to run polymerase chain reaction and gel electrophoresis.
Utilized the immunohistochemistry method of identifying proteins by staining using antibodies.
Characterized cognitive and motor deficits in mice which were over expressing alpha-synuclein in the striatum of the brain using various behavioral experiments including Novel Object Recognition, T-maze, Y-maze, Climbing Cage Test, Treadmill, etc.
Utilized the immunohistochemistry method of identifying proteins by staining using antibodies.
Rated experiments by recording data and conducted statistical analysis.
Presented results at lab meetings and poster session.
