Patrick Lea, P.E., Ph.D.

Lea P is an accomplished civil engineer and theoretical and applied mechanics expert with a diverse professional background. With a degree in civil engineering from Tufts University, Lea has held positions in both the private and public sectors, including as a structural engineer at Applied Science International and a civil engineer with the Massachusetts Highway Department.

She went on to pursue a graduate degree in civil/structural engineering and a PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at Tufts University and Northwestern University, respectively. As a graduate research assistant at Northwestern and a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University, Lea contributed to research investigating the fundamental mechanical principles that govern the behavior of materials in different environments.

Today, Lea works as an engineering analyst at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where she applies her expertise in theoretical and applied mechanics to various projects in the fields of engineering and science.

Lea's diverse background in structural engineering, theoretical and applied mechanics, and civil engineering make her a valuable asset in a variety of industries.
