Edward Weld, also known as Ted, boasts a solid 25 years of experience in the finance sector, with a specific focus on middle market companies' financing. He kicked off his career at Chase Manhattan bank in corporate finance, gradually building his expertise in financing, capital structuring, and originating transactions.
Throughout his career, Ted has showcased his versatility by handling a wide array of deals involving senior debt, high yield debt, structured debt like ABS, mezzanine debt, and private equity. He has held pivotal roles at esteemed financial institutions including Credit Suisse, Gleacher & Company, Royal Bank of Canada, and Deutsche Bank, where he delved into Special Situations within Securitized Products.
In 2009, Ted founded Hornsilver Capital, an alternative investment platform, which underlines his entrepreneurial spirit. Later on, he transitioned to Ares Management as a Managing Director in the Strategy & Relationship Management Group, assuming a crucial position focused on Family Offices/Multi-Family Offices, Endowments & Foundations.
Ted Weld's contributions extend to his involvement as a board member in notable private companies such as Cratos Capital Partners LLC and Ivy Hill II LLC. He currently serves on the investment committee of the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to promoting the performing and visual arts.
Ted Weld is an alumnus of Tufts University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management, where he obtained his Master of Science in Management.
