Dan Kihanya is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and advisor with a passion for mentoring early entrepreneurs. With a background in marketing, product development, and venture capital, Dan's expertise lies in helping early-stage start-ups with strategies for fundraising, lean startup processes, product-market fit, and customer growth. He is a co-founder and managing director of Impact Hub Bellevue, a coworking and incubation community for start-ups and social entrepreneurs. He also co-founded MyPoints.com, Inc., a leading provider of Internet direct marketing and consumer rewards.
Dan further helped build a loyalty services company, LSC, where he co-developed India's first coalition loyalty program, i-mint, now owned by American Express Payback. Additionally, Dan was instrumental in launching Wizely, a leading fintech app built for the India market. He helped build a user base of 1 million+ for the app.
Dan's current role is as the Director of Corporate Development at REI, where he helps to build more equity in the outdoor industry through REI Co-op Path Ahead Ventures and work with diverse founders. He is also the host of the podcast Founders Unfound, which features interviews with early-stage founders from underrepresented backgrounds.
Dan has a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley - Walter A. Haas School of Business.
