Buffy Wicks

Assemblymember Buffy Wicks represents the East Bay in the California State Assembly, with a focus on housing, expanding the social safety net, consumer protections, and advocating for women and working families. Known for having several bills signed into law, including during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to her political career, Wicks was involved in community organizing and worked on President Barack Obama's campaigns and in his administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Washington and has been affiliated with various organizations such as Rise Strategies, Common Sense Kids Action, and Priorities USA Action.
