Buck Perley

Buck Perley is a seasoned Austin-based full-stack software engineer with a background in Economics, Chinese Language, and Society. He has an Honours BA with distinction from the University of Toronto-New College and has also studied at Hack Reactor and Tsinghua University. Buck is proficient in business Mandarin and has developed with modern technologies such as React/Redux, AngularJS, D3, Node/Express, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and SASS.

Buck has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Unchained Capital, Senior Software Engineer at Tierion, and Engineering Lead at Purse. He has also held various roles in different organizations such as Ayasdi, Eggplant Digital, and Bitcoin 4 Your Thoughts. His interest in software engineering began when he started building an application that helps people monetize their home appliances. Buck is passionate about finding different solutions to different problems, an attitude he has adopted in different aspects of his life, such as motorcycling through every province in China, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail or working on The Great Ride of China. His professional and personal experiences have contributed to his constant thirst for new challenges and his ability to develop solutions to different problems.
