Bruce Willner is a Senior Engineer at Pollux Technologies, an early-stage startup developing accurate air filter monitoring technology.1 He has over 20 years of experience in technical and management roles developing nanotechnology and semiconductor materials and devices.1

Prior to joining Pollux Technologies in April 2023, Willner founded Daylight Science, a company focused on affordable scientific equipment for all.1 He has also served as a consultant at Activate Nano, a nanotechnology consultancy, since January 2020.1

Earlier in his career, Willner was the co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Graphene Frontiers, where he oversaw process and product development of novel biosensor technology.1 He has also held positions at Structured Materials Industries, Sarnoff Corporation, and elsewhere.1

Willner's work has included graphene and carbon nanotube fabrication, chemisensor and semiconductor photonic device development, fabrication of nanoscale materials, and materials and device characterization.1 He received his B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University, and an M.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.1

In addition to his professional activities, Willner co-founded and produced the Philadelphia Maker Faire in 2018 and 2019.1 He has a fondness for "making" and tinkering projects involving el-wire, circuits, Arduino, and 3D printing.1
