Bruce Ovbiagele

Dr. Bruce Ovbiagele, MD, MSc, MAS, MBA, MLS, is a board certified neurologist with a focus on vascular neurology.

Currently serving as the Chief of Staff (Chief Medical Officer) at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System (SFVAHCS), overseeing a large network providing health services to military veterans.

Additionally, he holds the position of Associate Dean at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), acting as a key link between UCSF and SFVAHCS, supervising medical students, residents, and fellows who rotate through SFVAHCS for training and research purposes.

Dr. Ovbiagele is actively engaged in leading NIH-funded studies on various stroke-related projects, such as utilizing technology like a blue-toothed electronic pill tray and smartphone to enhance stroke outcomes, assessing stroke risk in HIV patients, and investigating genetic variants related to stroke in people of African ancestry.
