Brittany Bendix is a Principal Planner at M-Group with over 14 years of experience in land use and policy, urban planning, historic preservation, and zoning.14 Prior to joining M-Group, she worked at the San Francisco Planning Department for nine years, focusing on large development projects and collaborating with various parties to resolve disputes.1
Her planning portfolio includes current planning projects ranging from new construction of large hillside single homes to high-rises, as well as the review of expansions to and adaptive-reuse of historic resources.1 Her policy experience entails several internal Department process improvements related to enhancing Department-wide public outreach and streamlining design review, as well as working on broader legislative reforms to San Francisco’s residential demolition and rent control ordinances.1
Bendix has a Master in City and Regional Planning (M.C.R.P) degree from the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, with a specialization in International and Regional Development, and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego.1 As of 2017, she is an alumni of Leadership San Francisco, a community service program operated as a nonprofit affiliate of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.1
As a Principal Planner with M-Group, Brittany started as a consulting planner for the City of Petaluma where she was the Deputy Planning Manager, processing major projects, supervising junior planners and the public counter, facilitating process improvements and filling-in for the Planning Manager as needed.1 She now works with M-Group's South Bay team on a variety of policy projects for clients including specific plan, community plan and housing element updates.1 She also worked as a Town Planner for the Town of Atherton.5
In her free time, Brittany enjoys exploring the Bay Area, wine tasting in Sonoma, hiking Mt. Diablo, apple picking, cooking, live music, museums, and traveling abroad.1 She has visited Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Paris, and is interested in returning to Mexico City and Berlin.1
