Brigit Haley, known as Brie, hails from Nelson, BC, and was raised in an environmentally conscious community that shaped her values of sustainability from a young age.
After an eye-opening backpacking trip through Southeast Asia, she pursued a higher education path focused on combating global climate change.
Brie holds a Diploma in Integrated Environmental Planning and Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, and a Master of Engineering in Clean Energy Engineering.
Her professional mission is to advocate for communities, particularly rural and First Nation communities, in transitioning away from diesel generation to embrace renewable energy systems and foster a low-carbon society.
With a dedication to tailoring mitigation and adaptation strategies to each community's unique needs, Brie strives to create a more sustainable future for all.
She has held roles in various organizations such as Urban Systems Ltd., Teck Resources Limited, The University of British Columbia, The Plastic Bank, and Nelson and District Community Complex, showcasing her diverse experience in sustainability, clean energy, community planning, and environmental advocacy.
