Brian Whittaker

Brian Whittaker is a seasoned federal executive with a strong background in leading IT transformation projects within the government sector for over a decade.

Currently serving as the Chief Innovation Officer at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Brian is also the founder of Humans of Public Service, a nonpartisan organization that highlights the contributions of individuals in the public service sector.

Brian's previous roles include leading the Design and Development team at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) where he spearheaded projects such as the CFPB website and HMDA platform, and overseeing digital consultancy at the General Services Administration (GSA).

With a solid educational foundation including a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Brian also holds a graduate certificate in Operational Excellence from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Throughout his career, Brian has been actively involved in various organizations such as the Federal Innovation Council Member at the Partnership for Public Service, Chief Experience Officer at FDIC, Director of Design and Development at CFPB, and more, showcasing his expertise in areas like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEIA), Customer Experience (CX), and organizational scaling.

His professional journey includes stints at prominent institutions like Lockheed Martin, Grant Thornton LLP, and AIGA DC, where he honed his skills in program management, technology leadership, and strategic development.

Brian Whittaker's notable accomplishments also include managing portfolios of $50 million in IT Modernization projects, fostering strong relationships with federal clients and industry stakeholders, and championing innovative solutions to drive impactful change in the government sector.
