Brian Timoney

Brian Timoney, a geospatial veteran, has an extensive background in consulting and management across various sectors. He currently resides in Denver, Colorado, but has worked globally and possesses citizenship and working privileges in the US, European Union, and Latin America. Brian has a track record in building sustainable data pipelines for the production of analytically compelling data products using a combination of commercial and open source GIS software, programming languages, and databases. He is a skilled writer and public speaker, engaging audiences ranging from newcomers to upper management veterans.

Brian completed his M.S. in Geography at Penn State University and his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy-Economics at Columbia University in New York City. He owns The Timoney Group and has previously held roles as the Director of Geospatial Operations at SolSpec, a geospatial contractor at DynCorp International, a GIS Analyst at Waterstone Environmental, Inc., a Cartographer at PetroWEB, and a Infantry Sergeant at the US Marine Corps.
