Brian Straight

Brian Straight is an experienced editorial leader with more than 20 years of expertise in print and digital media. He studied journalism at the University of Rhode Island before becoming a sports reporter for Southern RI Newspapers. He went on to become the Assistant Sports Editor, Sports Editor, and Managing Editor at various newspapers around the country, including Woonsocket Call, Taunton Daily Gazette, and Elm City Newspapers.

After years in print journalism, Straight transitioned to digital media and became the Content Production Director and Managing Editor for Fleet Owner and American Trucker magazines at Penton Media. He later became a Freelance Writer before landing his current role as the Managing Editor and founding editor of freightwaves.com at FreightWaves.

Straight is an award-winning editorial leader with a skill for content development and data analytics. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island and is passionate about the power of digital engagement.
