Brian Otieno

Brian Otieno is a Creative Director at Narretrieve and a freelance photojournalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. He was born and raised in Kibera, a slum settlement in Nairobi, which has significantly influenced his work. Otieno is known for his long-term personal project, "Kibera Stories," where he documents the everyday lives and stories of residents in his community, aiming to raise awareness about their experiences and aspirations.12

In addition to his role at Narretrieve, Otieno's photography often focuses on themes of resilience and hope, showcasing the vibrancy of life in Kibera despite the challenges faced by its residents. His work has been recognized in various platforms, including a feature as a 2019 Emergi-Cube Artist at Photoville NYC.1
