Brian Murphy is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at First Eagle Investment Management. He joined the firm in 2020 following its acquisition of THL Credit, where he had been since June 2004. In his current role, he also serves as co-head of origination and is a member of the global investment committee at First Eagle Alternative Credit (FEAC) .12
Murphy has extensive experience in the finance industry, having started his career in 1992. Prior to his tenure at THL Credit, he was a senior credit analyst and portfolio manager at McDonnell Investment Management, focusing on alternative credit strategies. His earlier roles included positions at Columbia Management Advisors, where he covered telecommunications and media sectors, and Van Kampen Investments as an assistant portfolio manager .12
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance from Loras College and is based in Western Springs, Illinois .13
