Brian Lam is the Founding Editor of The Wirecutter, a product review website owned by The New York Times, a position he has held since October 2016. Prior to this role, he served as the CEO of The Wirecutter from its inception in October 2011 until October 2016. Under his leadership, The Wirecutter developed a reputation for providing in-depth, research-based product recommendations, focusing on quality rather than novelty in gadget journalism.1

Before his tenure at The Wirecutter, Lam was the Editor in Chief at Gizmodo, where he significantly increased the site's traffic and innovated in technology journalism from July 2006 to July 2011. He also worked as an Assistant Editor at Wired Magazine from September 2003 to July 2006, where he contributed to the editorial direction of the publication.1

Lam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Business from Boston University, which he completed in 1999.1
