He has also held roles such as Captain, Master 50 GRT, Near Coastal Waters in the United States Merchant Marine and as a Member of the Board of Trustees at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Additionally, he has contributed to the community as a Commissioner at ARLINGTON HOUSING AUTHORITY.
