Growth Engineer

Growth engineering and marketing at Unbounce. I focused on ideating, testing and launching technical projects with high potential impact on the bottom line. 

Achievements:

• Built and launched the Landing Page Analyzer - a free tool to analyze your landing page and instantly provide recommendations to improve: https://unbounce.com/landing-page-analyzer/. This was one of the most successful projects to date for the team – launching on Product Hunt with 1500+ votes, generating 10k leads in the first month and 100s weekly thereafter. 
• Created a previewer for our popup and sticky bar products showing users a dynamically styled popup on their own website without any code. This helped to cross-sell the majority of our existing customers on the new product line.
• Started the Unbounce demo sandbox allowing visitors to try Unbounce without needing to login or provide any email address. This became the main CTA and lead generator on the website. 
• Multiple sales and marketing automation projects saving the teams 100+ hours every month.
• Implemented advanced audience matching to optimize our ad retargeting.

Unbounce

Achievements:

• Helped grow the sales team from $0 to a team of 12 and a significant revenue driver for the company. 
• Built out and led the launch specialist team responsible for technical pre-sales and complex onboarding of new sales-assisted customers.
• Explored and MVP tested new avenues for generating sales leads, including launching a successful social selling campaign and testing calling new trial starts within 15 minutes of signup.
• Implemented and recorded sales processes and training programs for new account executives.
• Built tooling and automation to help the sales team be more efficient, increasing their output 2X and removing monotonous tasks.

Technical Sales Manager - Growth & Operations

Rapidly experimented to find new opportunities for growth, operationalizing those that showed potential. 

Achievements:

• Started and proved out Unbounce's first referral program.
• Built and launched the Landing Page Checklist Chrome extension to 1000s of users, with the goal of generating new trial signups.
• Trained the 30 person marketing team on resourcefulness, MVP and "scrappy" thinking saving each hours per week through automating monotonous projects.
• Launched 8 experiments in 8 weeks to find opportunities for scaling (including an ROI calculator, creative PPC campaigns and offline campaigns). This resulted in 100s of signups and many new campaign ideas, all on a total budget of $1000.
• Implemented and followed the growth process which the team still uses.
• Worked with teams on executing and implementing MVPs for bigger ideas
• Implemented automation workflows for the sales team saving 10+ hours each per week

Growth Strategist

Spent three months travelling around South East Asia with my fiancée - Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. During the time I launched a new travel workout iOS & Android app, became qualified in Thai Massage, obtained my PADI Open Water diver cert and completed a cooking course in each country.

Travelling

Datahug is a venture backed SaaS company with offices in Dublin and San Francisco. Datahug uses Relationship Intelligence to accelerate sales and take the pain out of CRM. By connecting to corporate email and calendar systems, Datahug provides big-data insights that are proven to increase win rates by 10% and provide full forecasting predictability across the sales pipeline. 

I was promoted to head of product after less than a year on the product team. As head of product, I:
- Managed the overall product management process at Datahug.
- Owned and defined the product roadmap, strategy and priorities. Held accountable for it's success.
- Was the go-to person for the product, knowing it inside out.
- Gathered and analysed feedback from sales, marketing, development and customers.
- Worked closely with sales, client services and marketing to ensure the product supported the overall company strategy and business model.

Achievements:
- Developed Datahug's CRM integrations (including Salesforce.com and Microsoft Dynamics) which became the company's most successful offering.
- Actively encouraged feedback and placed huge emphasis on UX moving towards more user centric development. This lead to higher MAU and more importantly happier users.
- Increased product usage month on month throughout my time in the role.
- Played a big part in closing many deals due to my knowledge of the product, vision as to where we were taking it and understanding of the user & workflow.
- Set up and ran the daily Datahug gym!

Datahug

Head of Product

Datahug is a venture backed SaaS company with offices in Dublin and San Francisco. Datahug uses Relationship Intelligence to accelerate sales and take the pain out of CRM. By connecting to corporate email and calendar systems, Datahug provides big-data insights that are proven to increase win rates by 10% and provide full forecasting predictability across the sales pipeline. 

I joined the Datahug product team as an analyst. This involved working closely with the engineering team to implement the product roadmap, liaising with customers to gather feedback and analysing product metrics to help drive the product forward.

Achievements:
- Provided real time visibility over vast amounts of product metric data that previously wasn't available. This helped to influence product decisions and changes.
- Designed and implemented the latest Datahug API, which became the foundations of some of their most successful integrations. 
- Improved the sprint process (higher production, less issues and down time), through working closer and improving communication channels with the engineering team.
- Being a startup, I worked across departments at various times, including client services and sales. This gave me an all round startup experience.
- Worked extremely hard and learned fast, resulting in my promotion to head of product after less than a year on the product team.

Product Analyst

Tauro Software is a growth & automation consultancy I started with a number of other engineers. We offer services and have completed projects around:

- sales automation and operations
- growth marketing
- dynamic ABM campaigns
- process automation and streamlining
- customer enrichment

We also started and ran Smart Connect, a SaaS product for the recruiters to make them more efficient through speeding up time-to-candidate.

Tauro Software & Solutions

Owner / Full Stack Developer

Utilised my experience in process development and advanced Excel and VBA programming skills to improve processes for a number of small to mid-sized clients across Ireland. Developed systems ranging from automated reports (eliminating manual effort) to complex financial models. 

Some projects included:
- Developed a stock management system and process to create periodic reports on stock situation and email suppliers when stock falls below certain level. Resulted in better stock management and efficiency cost savings.
- Introduced an expenses system to check expense claims as they are inputted for errors/bogus claims. Emails line manager for approval before being passed automatically to Accounts. Resulted in time savings for Accounts Team and less enquiries around mismatched expense claims.
- Created Purchase Order system for a number of clients enabling easy creation & storage of purchase orders, electronic signing through email and actual vs. planned expenditure tracking. Increased efficiency and control over the paper based systems it replaced.
- Management reporting systems providing KPI dashboards, sales reports, automated reports on top of raw data. Allowed management to make quicker and more informed decisions.
- Business case modelling for numerous startups. In addition to dynamic 5 yr P&L and cashflow statements I created basic prototypes to test concepts before committing technical resources.

Self Employed

Process Development Consultant

Worked across a variety of clients and industries, including Banking, Financial Services, Public Sector and FMCG.

Specifically focused on complex financial & operational modelling, project management, business processes & controls, data analysis and business case building.

Achievements:
- Demonstrated superb Excel modelling and data analysis skills, and became the go-to person in the department for this work. Worked with multiple clients on complex business case and financial modelling. Based on this work and the relationships I developed further jobs and contracts were won with these clients.
- Won the “best new employee” award and was graded top among my colleagues based on performance reviews.
- Designed and implemented a management reporting system collating three reporting systems into one for a large FMCG client. Developed close relationships with all involved to shape the best possible solution. The system exceeded client expectations, giving the CEO and CFO a more complete view of their business. Received recognition at partner level for this work.
- Identified multiple reports that were manual, time consuming and used by colleagues on a regular basis. Automated these through Excel which management then distributed across PwC. Resulted in significant time saving per project, contributing to a higher recovery.
- Elected to PwC’s technology and digital media research team.
- Chaired a quarterly team meeting for 100+ people, presented to numerous clients and provided training in Excel for colleagues.

Management Consultant

Led projects improving and creating new processes, working with all departments in the company saving time and money.

Achievements:
-	Transformed the Brands' paper based Purchase Order System. Created a PO system through Excel, VBA and Outlook to allow for easy creation & storage of purchase orders, electronic signing through email and actual vs. planned expenditure tracking. Trained staff in on system. Resulted in time saving, tighter expenditure controls, convenience and a major cost saving vs. an external system for which there was no budget.
-	Implemented a new expense claim process and system. After an internal audit expressed concern over the loose expenses process, I changed it. Liaised with Accounting, Finance and HR to map out needs, then devised the process, implemented it and the controls around it. Passed next audit with flying colours.
-	Worked with the dealer development team, modelling business cases for new dealers to assess their suitability for Volkswagen Group. Recognised by the leadership team for my role in this.

Volkswagen Group Ireland

Completed a one-year internship as an assistant financial controller for Volkswagen Group Ireland. Volkswagen Group are the sole importers of Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda & Seat vehicles in Ireland.

Managed project finances, created financial statements, analysed actual versus budget & recommended actions to improve profitability, forecasted income & expenditure and prepared monthly reports for management. Worked as part of a global team with colleagues in Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic.

Achievements:
-	Learned Excel during own time so as to improve in the role.
-	Created automatic templates for brand controllers to forecast finances and monthly budgets.
-	During down time worked with other departments, gaining cross function experience (Marketing, Warranty, Sales, Aftersales, HR and Facility Management) and developing better relationships making the annual budgeting process more efficient.
-	Revamped stock management procedure. Created a system which turned a monthly one/two day job into a 15 minute procedure which also error checked and automatically emailed a report.
-	Stepped in for brand controllers during sick/annual leave.
-	Helped in the implementation and utilisation of the SAP system. Created manuals and helped colleagues get up to speed with the system.
-	Gained authority to sign off on and manage expenses up to €1,000.

Was kept on during my final year in DCU working approx 20 hours per week during college and full time over holidays/summer.
