In addition to his current role, Brian has an extensive background in labor relations and financial management. He has held the position of Financial Secretary - Treasurer at the Northeastern Illinois Federation of Labor (NIFL) under the AFL-CIO, where he was responsible for managing the financial affairs of the federation, thus playing a key role in the operational sustainability of the organization. His commitment to labor rights and advocacy is further exemplified by his previous role as an Executive Board member and Trustee at NIFL, where he contributed to strategic decision-making processes that have influenced labor policies in the region.
Prior to his work with the NIFL, Brian served as a City Delivery Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service (USPS). This experience enabled him to gain firsthand knowledge about the challenges faced by letter carriers and provided him with a unique perspective on the issues pertinent to his current role as Legislative Liaison. Brian’s journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the labor movement and the betterment of worker conditions.

Brian began his educational journey at Delta College, where he studied Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. He continued his education at the University of Michigan, enriching his understanding of a broad spectrum of knowledge that would later inform his work in labor relations and advocacy. His academic background laid the foundation for his successful career in labor management and advocacy.

His financial expertise, coupled with his experience in municipal services, has positioned him as a knowledgeable leader who combines academic knowledge with practical experience to foster positive outcomes for workers.
