As a key leader in the creation of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Charity Hospital (HBRCCH), I spearheaded the planning, design, and engineering teams while also developing a comprehensive operating model in collaboration with Mayo Clinic. This state-of-the-art facility will incorporate the latest technologies, including the UAE's first Proton Therapy Center, to provide cutting-edge treatment for cancer patients. Our efforts were carried out under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the goal of establishing the country's first charity hospital dedicated to helping those in need. The HBRCCH represents a true milestone in the UAE's healthcare sector and a testament to our commitment to excellence in patient care.

As Group Executive Vice President, I held a critical leadership role, directly accountable to the Board Chairman, directors, and CEO, overseeing operations in the U.K. and India, as well as driving improvement across clinical and non-clinical functions for our companies in 13 countries across Europe and Asia. I was responsible for achieving service level improvements, spearheading business development, executing successful turnarounds, and identifying strategic acquisitions.

My work required me to navigate complex challenges and intricacies in working with diverse businesses, cultures, and government agencies. To succeed, I leveraged my extensive global experience, deep industry knowledge, and astute business acumen to navigate the regulatory and cultural nuances and foster strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Through my leadership, I delivered tangible results, improving operational efficiency, increasing profitability, and driving long-term sustainable growth across the enterprise.

Johns Hopkins Medicine International (UAE) – An internationally recognized leader in healthcare delivery, research, and education.

As a key member of the management team, I played a key role in overseeing the operations of multiple facilities that were under our management contract with the Abu Dhabi government. These facilities included Tawam Hospital, Al Wagan Hospital, the Regional Blood Bank, a Dental Hospital, and two primary care centers. I worked closely with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies for improving the quality of care and operational efficiency across these facilities. Additionally, I played a critical role in supporting the development of new facilities such as the dedicated breast care center, the molecular imaging center; as well as the planning and design of a 1,500 replacement hospital. I also provided guidance and support for other Abu Dhabi hospitals that were under our responsibility, including Corniche and Al Rahba Hospitals.  During my tenure on the management team of Tawam Hospital, the hospital was honored with several Arab Health Awards, more than it had ever received before and since. These awards recognized the hospital's excellence in various areas such as patient care, medical research, and innovation. It was an honor to be a part of a team that was recognized for its dedication and hard work in providing top-quality healthcare to our patients.

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services is a group of 17 private hospitals in South Asia that are an amalgam of new builds and acquisitions.

As a leader responsible for supporting the daily operations of 17 hospitals, my primary focus was on improving operational efficiency and maximizing profitability. I implemented strategies aimed at optimizing care delivery systems, reducing wastage, and improving patient outcomes.

One of the key initiatives I spearheaded was the hospital's digital transformation journey. Through the establishment of tele-diagnostics, tele-stroke, and tele-education programs, we were able to provide high-quality care to patients from remote locations across Thailand, resulting in increased patient satisfaction and a higher volume of medical tourism to our hospitals in Thailand from abroad.

As the organization embarked on a journey towards a public offering, I worked to streamline our operations and ensure that the company was in a strong position to achieve maximum value. Through my leadership and focus on operational efficiency, we were able to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve overall profitability.

Asia Bio Systems Holdings, Singapore - ABS, was the leading clinical engineering services company in Asia, serving both public and private sector healthcare organizations.

As the Chief Executive of Asia Bio Systems, I spearheaded the development and execution of the company's winning strategy that fueled its rapid growth and success for over a decade in South Asia. In a challenging and culturally diverse business environment, our innovative service model catered to a variety of public and private healthcare providers. This endeavor required extensive government interactions, and I successfully navigated this terrain to establish strong relationships and receive support.

I lead the company from inception to profitability and an award-winning presence in four countries, a testament to the team's hard work and dedication. Our success was fueled by a passion for improving healthcare and making it accessible to all. However, my commitment for making hospitals better and safer, fueled by my mother's accidental death due to hospital system errors, prompted me to return to hospital management at Dusit Medical Services, where I could make a direct impact in improving patient outcomes.

As an international program director, I was responsible for planning and managing various international initiatives of the school of public health, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. During this time, I also support the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School on international programs - focusing on Asia.
