Brian Chen

Brian Chen is an analyst at MDI Ventures, which is the corporate venture capital arm of Telkom Indonesia. He graduated from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) with a degree in Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD). At MDI Ventures, he focuses on sectors such as fintech, social commerce, gaming, and esports.123

Prior to his role at MDI Ventures, Brian was involved with Protégé Ventures, a student-run venture capital fund in Southeast Asia, where he progressed from Investment Analyst to Principal. His work there included leading research and educational initiatives for new analysts.2 Additionally, he has shown a keen interest in emerging technologies like blockchain and cryptocurrencies.1

Outside of his professional pursuits, Brian has notable achievements including owning an engineering patent during his studies and competing in Olympic weightlifting.1 He is also an avid gamer, having ranked 5th in the PVPEsports Campus League for the game Mobile Legends in 2019.1
