Brian Boates, a native of Nova Scotia, is a highly accomplished individual with a background in physics and machine learning. Boates holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Dalhousie University and also completed his B.Sc. in Physics Honours from the same university. With a strong educational foundation, Boates delved into the realm of technology and data science. Currently, he serves as the VP of Machine Learning & Data Science at Cash App under the umbrella of Square. Prior to this role, Boates held several key positions within Square, including Head of Machine Learning in Risk, Head of Machine Learning and Risk at Square Capital, and Senior Data Scientist. His journey into the tech industry began during his tenure as a Ph.D. Student at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
