Brian Blackburn is an experienced educator with a passion for serving others. Since 1994, Brian has been a dedicated volunteer with Mercy Ships, contributing significantly to the organization's educational initiatives.

Brian's journey with Mercy Ships began with teaching elementary grades in the ship school, where he eventually climbed up the ranks to become the school principal. With his commitment and leadership skills, Brian then transitioned to the role of school director in Texas, further expanding his impact within the organization.

Currently, Brian Blackburn holds the position of School Administrative Assistant on the Africa Mercy, showcasing his versatile capabilities and willingness to adapt to new environments to support the mission of Mercy Ships.

Brian's educational background includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education from Wheaton College and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Education from Athens State University, equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the field of education.

Throughout his professional journey, Brian has held various roles within Mercy Ships, such as Academy Administrative Assistant, Academy Chief Administrator, and Teacher. These positions have allowed him to make a profound impact on the lives of students and contribute significantly to the success of educational programs within the organization.

Brian's dedication to serving others extends beyond his work with Mercy Ships, as evidenced by his previous roles as Support Staff at Southside Baptist Church and Music Buyer at Tree of Life Bookstore. These experiences have further shaped Brian's holistic approach to education and community service.
