•	Oversee day-to-day operations for the largest documentary media event/organization in North America with an annual audience exceeding 500,000 through the festival, cinema, digital platforms, educational and touring programs
•	Manage a team of 8 Directors, 55 indirect reports, 200+ seasonal staff members, and over 800 event volunteers 
•	Report directly to the Board of Directors and provide thought leadership to inform planning and overall direction
•	Oversee administration of an annual $9.5 million budget and review and approve large organizational expenditures 
•	Represent the organization during public appearances and act as a key spokesperson while interacting with media 

Key Achievements:

✔	Grew festival attendance from under 150,000 guests in 2012 to over 225,000 in 2019 by expanding the festival to 15 venues across the GTA, generating a regional economic impact exceeding $54 million
✔ Grew Hot Docs’ trade conference to the largest in North America, welcoming more than 2,500 media executives and professionals annually
✔	Increased the annual budget by establishing new private partnerships, negotiating sponsorships, and introducing a philanthropic advancement team and individual giving program
✔	Initiated multi-year partnerships with prominent private and non-profit organizations including Scotiabank, Rogers, Bell, Apple, Netflix, Oxfam,  and SAP
✔	Provided leadership in developing successful speakers series and conference events, including the Hot Docs Scotiabank Big Ideas series (speakers include Dan Rather, Ai Wei Wei, Anita Hill, Jennifer Doudna) and the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (speakers include Bill Gates, Mark Thompson, Chris Hadfield)
✔	Helped guide the development of a granting portfolio and impact measurement framework that has raised $10+ million in private donations to fund 250+ documentaries and impact campaigns

Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival

Executive Director

•	Directed a 6-member team in the planning and execution of the annual festival, industry conference, and programs 
•	Led key strategic projects to deliver new programs, instigate partnerships, and produce online properties
•	Onboarded key sponsorship accounts and started contacts with media, tourism boards, and government agencies

Key Achievements:
✔	Played an integral role in increasing the annual festival attendance by over 130,000 guests by introducing new frameworks, systems, and policies that allowed the enterprise to scale up and build organizational capacity 
✔	Helped to lead the opening of the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema in 2012, the world’s first dedicated documentary cinema  
✔	Enhanced the engagement, training, and retention programs and fostered a work place culture based on inclusion and collaboration that helped bolster the Hot Docs’ volunteer base from 50 members in 2003 to over 500 in 2013 
✔	Partnered with the Executive Director to create the Docs for Schools program that provides free documentary programs to 125,000+ students and educators across 3 provinces 
✔	Inaugurated partnerships with iTunes Canada and 8 other leading streaming services that enabled the independent filmmakers to increase their documentary sales by over 60%
✔	Launched the cross-Canada screening series with annual events in every major region and formed touring partnerships with community organizations to attain representation from coast-to-coast 
✔	Produced the annual World Congress of Science Producers conference that featured a $1.2 million annual budget and over 750 of the world’s top media producers, journalists, and documentarians
