Brent Locks

Brent Locks is the Co-Founder and President of Builder.io, a position he has held since 2019.1 Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Locks has an extensive background in technology, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship.

Professional Experience

Prior to co-founding Builder.io, Locks held several leadership positions at ShopStyle:

• General Manager (2017-2019)
• Vice President of Product (2015-2017)
• Senior Director of Product (2014-2015)1

During his tenure at ShopStyle, he oversaw various aspects of the business, including product management, design, community, and data science. ShopStyle was acquired by Rakuten in 2017.1

Entrepreneurial Ventures

Locks has a history of successful entrepreneurship:

• Co-founded PICT.com, a shoppable photo technology platform that was acquired by POPSUGAR (ShopStyle's parent company at the time)1
• Co-founded GreenLaces, a 501(c)3 organization focused on environmental sustainability, where he served as COO from 2008 to 20131

Education

Locks holds two degrees:

• MBA from the University of California, Berkeley - Walter A. Haas School of Business (2009-2011)
• BA in Business Management Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz (1999-2003), graduating with Highest Honors1

During his MBA program, Locks was actively involved in entrepreneurship-related activities, serving as the President of the Entrepreneurs Association and a Club Leader for Startup@Berkeley.1
