Talent Development Specialist

As a project-based trainer, I facilitate client training programs on leadership & talent development topics. In FY23, I've facilitated 194 workshop hours virtually/in-person, with participants rating me an average of 5/5 on my content knowledge and facilitation logistics. 

Classes I facilitate include: Coaching to Build Skills, Improve Performance & Develop Others; Communication Skills for Difficult Discussions; Communication Skills for the Workplace; Conflict Strategies - Navigating Others Through Workplace Difficulties; Cultivating a Culture of Accountability; Generational Diversity; Leading Teams; Leadership Essentials; Leadership Through Change; Supervision Core Competencies; Workplace Respect. 

I develop facilitator guides as train-the-trainer content to ensure effective, standardized workshop delivery, and I provide ad-hoc project support (e.g. coaching keynote speaker "Enhancing the Employee Experience" for 2023 conference).

I'm a project-based training facilitator for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), which believes that leadership is the critical lever for igniting positive, transformative, and sustainable change, at a time when the world requires new thinking and vision to solve both local and global challenges. 

In FY23 courses taught, I received 4.6/5 trainer rating on creating an effective learning environment (4 = to a great extent/5 = to a very great extent).

Instructional Facilitator

The Chief of Staff serves a critical role in addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with rapid scaling, particularly those related to staffing. This is a multi-faceted position with an overall purpose of serving WorkLife's day-to-day needs and growth strategy, and ensuring WorkLife has 100% the "Right People in the Right Seats." They are able and willing to set aside their own personal agenda-or department specific agendas-in favor of acting on behalf of the organization as a whole. They love helping to bring out the best in people and have a knack for aligning individual performance with organizational goals. They are a superb listener with a knack for understanding when to slow down and when to act with urgency. 

The Chief of Staff helps maximize executive functions by reducing pressure of day-to-day people management and recruitment from CoO by providing first level of support to department directors and managers as they expand and develop their teams. They ensure organizational systems are used consistently by all teams to ensure accountability and alignment and serve as a liaison between the executive team and staff regarding the overall organizational climate.

• Design and facilitate learning & development solutions, ranging from a 10-week leadership course to custom team retreats. In FY23, received a 100% rating from participants on workshops being a valuable use of time, learning skills directly related to their jobs, and recommending the content to others. 

Training and development workshop topics include : feedback, accountability based in learning not shame, goal & expectation setting, psychological safety, culture building, working with different styles, etc.

• Create, execute, and analyze needs assessments via surveys and focus groups.

• Provide consulting to strategic business units and people leaders. Common topics include: communication, setting effective expectations, feedback, personnel management and performance improvement, team building and engagement, change management, and time management.

• Lead instructional design, curriculum development, and creation of core learning materials for training programs (e.g. performance management, effective goal setting, feedback skills).

• Develop competency models and aligned performance review processes to identify competency strengths and gaps.

• Develop employee-oriented change management strategies (e.g. developed communication content and talking points for CEO navigating an M&A transition from March- September 2023).

The Values + Culture Lady

I focused on student enrollment management for both prospective and current students, including managing the quarterly curriculum scheduling process across 13 departments, supporting prospective graduate student recruitment and admissions, and supervising an undergraduate student leadership team. My position was a blend of data analysis and relationship management to coordinate across internal departments and programs, as well as represent the liberal arts unit across the university.  

Examples of deliverables: designed and implemented new processes college-wide processes (a new academic program proposal process, graduate student feedback survey, student withdrawal process), tracked and analyzed data across the college to inform leadership decisions (e.g. identify metrics and trends to build a transparent process for deciding when and how to allocate budgetary resources); incorporated DEI values into standard processes (e.g. co-led task force to define teaching equity and related metrics; secured $5,000 grant and consultant to support a review and analysis of external communications; elected by peers to represent staff voice on college-level equity committee and staff structure development/retention committee).

Summer Search is committed to closing the educational opportunity gap across race and class lines. As a National Associate Director of Development, I helped manage and grow Summer Search's national development strategy across six offices. My focus areas included identifying and strengthening shared resources for fundraising staff throughout the network, strategic initiative management, board development and management (with a focus on building metrics behind efforts to increase board diversity), external stakeholder engagement, and team management.

In this role, I built relationships and managed accounts of corporate and foundation partners to raise nearly $2M in annual revenue. I managed the board recruiting committee with a focus on increasing board diversity, and oversaw the recruitment/onboarding of seven new board members. I designed, implemented, and led partner engagement programs, particularly for employees of partner companies.

Bay Area Foundation & Corporate Relations Officer

TaroWorks is a B2B SaaS start-up serving social enterprises/non-profits working in developing countries. While based in Kampala, I was responsible for business development strategy & operations. This included being the project manager of customizing and implementing marketing automation software for our global sales team. I designed and tested different strategies for both client communication and database management, generating client leads and building a scalable, measurable sales pipeline.

Initiated and developed an automated process for identifying and cultivating high net-worth prospects, which raised $80,000+ in its first year of implementation and was then adopted by global fundraising teams. Generated 2x the position's revenue goal. Engaged a variety of 5-100 person audiences, including corporate employees, students and interest groups. Supervised contractors and volunteers.

Developed relationships with new donor prospects and secured individual gifts up to $35,000 from first-time donors.
Developed and coordinated written communications for major donors, including proposals and grant reports for up to $1 million, as well as communications for both the CEO and Founder to support the North America market’s $18 million fundraising goal.
Streamlined manual operational tasks into automated processes, such as a system that is now used globally to generate and track gift acknowledgements.
