Braxton Thomas
Braxton W. Thomas is a recent graduate of Millsaps College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Sociology. During her time at Millsaps, she excelled academically and was inducted into the Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society. Additionally, she was actively involved on campus serving as a Student Ambassador for the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty, a Research Assistant for the Kellogg Grant Foundation, the Ivy Leaf Reporter & VP for the Lambda Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a Captain for the Women's basketball team.
Braxton furthered her education by pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Southern Studies at the University of Mississippi. Her educational background also includes a High School Diploma from Tupelo High School.
In terms of work experience, Braxton has a diverse background having served as a Staff Assistant at the U.S. House of Representatives, a Summer Intern at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, a Congressional Intern at the U.S. House of Representatives, a Summer Intern at the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty, a Legal Intern at the House of Ruth Maryland, an Administrative Assistant at the Millsaps College Initiative for Vocational Inquiry (IVI), and an Intern Office Assistant at Mayfield Law Firm, L.L.P.
