Brannon Bowers
Theatre, Film, & Live Event Producer
Brannon Bowers is the Producing Director at the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University, a position he has held since July 2016.1 He is a creative producer dedicated to developing new works and queer forms of performance, with a focus on bridging theatrical genres, artistic mediums, and local communities.1
In his role at AMTP, Bowers has:
- Developed over 45 new musical works in eight years1
- Managed an annual budget and secured funding from major donors1
- Established an international partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland1
- Created the first festival of student-written musicals1
Bowers is also involved in other projects:
- Creative Producer for "Get Out Alive" by Nikki Lynette, an autobiographical afrogoth musical1
- Board Member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT)1
- Lead Consultant on creating a Center for New Work Development at Carnegie Mellon University1
Prior to his current role, Bowers worked as a Production Assistant at McCarter Theatre and held various positions at Northwestern University, including Tour Guide and Box Office Clerk.1 He graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre/Theater, a Gender Studies Minor, and an Integrated Marketing Certificate.1
