Brandi Stewart
Program Officer for the Arts at Doris Duke Charitable Foundation
Brandi Stewart is a Duke University graduate with a background in English and African & African American studies. She has extensive experience in philanthropy, having worked at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and the Nathan Cummings Foundation, where she helped manage the arts and culture portfolio. Prior to her philanthropy work, Brandi was a journalist at FORTUNE Small Business Magazine, reporting on small business news and trends, and a production assistant at Fox Business Network.
Brandi's interest in the arts extends from her background in ballet and modern dance, having trained at the School of American Ballet, the Ailey School, and Dance Theatre of Harlem, and performing with the Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company. She currently serves on the board of Dance/NYC and the advisory board of Duke Performances, and is a board member of DCL, Inc., a literary nonprofit focused on elevating the stories and achievements of the African American community.
As the Program Officer for the Arts at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Brandi works to plan, implement, review, and evaluate the program’s goals and strategies, contributing her ample expertise in the philanthropy sector to the organization's overall mission.
