    Brad Gerstner

Founder and CEO at Altimeter Capital

    Brad Gerstner

Brad Gerstner is the Founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital, a tech investment firm based in Silicon Valley and Boston. Started in 2008, Altimeter manages over $15 billion of investments across its public equity fund and venture capital funds.123

Prior to starting Altimeter, Gerstner founded or co-founded three internet search companies, the last of which was sold to Google in 2012 and became Google Hotel Search.13 He was born in Indiana, studied at Wabash College, Oxford University, Indiana University School of Law and Harvard Business School.13

Altimeter's cultural North Star is Essentialism - the art of doing less better. Accordingly, Gerstner believes organizational and portfolio complexity are the enemy of returns. He believes in small teams but strong cultures built around excellence, integrity, impact, and fun.13

Gerstner's family foundation - Give Forward - is helping to lead school turnarounds in East Palo Alto as well as poverty relief in the Bay Area. He is also the Founder of The Board Challenge, a movement drastically accelerating the rate of diversity on corporate boards.13

Gerstner lives in Woodside, CA where he loves to chase after his two boys Lincoln (12) and Jack (10), run, bike, ski and surf. If you are talking to him during the week, there are equal chances he is at his desk or riding his electric one wheel down Sand Hill Road.13
