Brad Carvey

Bradley John Carvey, born on July 10, 1951, in Missoula, Montana, is an accomplished American engineer known for his pioneering work in video technology. He gained recognition as the builder of the first Video Toaster, a significant system used in the production and editing of video for movies and television. This innovation played a crucial role in enhancing visual effects in various films and TV shows, including Men In Black, Stuart Little, and Black Hawk Down .1

In addition to his engineering achievements, Brad Carvey is the brother of comedian Dana Carvey, who famously based the character Garth Algar from Wayne's World on him. Both brothers received Primetime Emmys in 1993; Brad was awarded for "Outstanding Achievement in Engineering" for his contributions to the Video Toaster .1
