Borre Akkersdijk

Borre Akkersdijk is a prominent Dutch textile designer, recognized for his role as the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) and co-founder of BYBORRE, a studio specializing in textile innovation. Born in Wamel, Netherlands, he pursued fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2009. During his studies, he also gained experience working at Studio Edelkoort, a Paris-based design and trend consultancy.

In 2010, Akkersdijk laid the groundwork for BYBORRE by initially consulting for major brands like Nike and Louis Vuitton. He shifted his focus to developing unique 3D knitted fabrics, which have become a hallmark of his work. His contributions to the field have been recognized with accolades such as the Young Designer of the Year award at the Dutch Design Awards in 2012.
